Where do you like to shop? A WAB Debate!

Wednesday August 23 2017

Where do you like to shop? Where do you like to shop?

LIDL has overtaken Waitrose to become Britain's seventh largest supermarket. This week's WAB Debate asks: Where do you like to shop and why?

Lidl grew sales by 18.9 per cent in the 12 weeks to August 13, taking its market share to 5.2 per cent, according to industry data from Kantar Worldpanel.

That puts it ahead of upmarket Waitrose, at 5.1 per cent.

Waitrose had already fallen behind Aldi - which is now the fifth biggest chain.

Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and Morrisons still lead the way.

Where do you like to shop? Which supermarket has the best value? Or, do you prefer to shop with independent retailers like market stallholders?
