Mi Card scheme ends after tomorrow

Thursday March 30 2017

Barnsley Interchange Barnsley Interchange

TOMORROW is the last day young people will be able to use their Mi Cards.

MegaTravel Mi Cards - that qualify holders for a 60p bus fare - and Mi Cards for over 16s will not be able to be used after March 31.

The scheme - which gives off-peak bus travel discounts to young people - has been changed numerous times over the years, and once offered free travel before fares were implemented.

MegaTravel MiCards - for under 16s - will continue to be valid for use as a MegaTravel pass - and holders will qualify for an 80p concessionary fare.

I wont be surprised If under 16s lose theirs,as well, how can they justify disabled free pass when they get motability surely if they get free car with everything thrown in including free parking, why are they awarded free travel as well or vice versa if they can travel on public transport how come they get motability make sense to check whos using public transport and ask the question do they need car might save a bob there

Disabled people don't get free cars they have to pay for them out of the benefits.

My neighbours flashy motability car would certainly cost a lot more per month to lease than the higher rate motability payment plus then add on free tax, insurance, servicing, tyres and RAC. The amount they pay comes nowhere near covering the cost so they are getting most of it for free........

It already costs us as working parents 30 a week (including lunch money) to send our daughter to school due to being just over border now even more. What about the people who have more than 1 child. People at college who still depend on their parents.
Schools/colleges may find that more student dont attend as they can't afford to go if they loose their passes

News just in : having children costs money. If people moan that this cost is too much then drive the kids around or pay taxi costs. I think you'll find after looking at those costs, then this isn't that bad at all. Fuel / staff wages / vehicles / taxes etc.. are not free.

Stop moaning--- this country simply isn,t FREE to live in, you have a family and sadly you have to PAY , just deal with it
