FIRE crews have been tackling a blaze at a Cudworth scrapyard overnight.

Firefighters from Cudworth, Barnsley, Dearne, Tankersley and Rotherham stations were called to the fire on Boulder Bridge Lane just after 10:30pm.

They spent a number of hours tackling several tonnes of aluminum which were on fire.

One fire crew remains at the scene damping down.
