I think these speed cameras can only be a good thing for Barnsley especially at this time of the year
I concur

I wonder if they have thought about a speed camera at the turn off for the Spencer's Arms at Cawthorne? A BMW overtook a line of 4 cars today just after the cross rds at Barugh Green!! The driver must have been doing 60+!! It was a Miricle there wasn't a crash at some point. There has been fatalities on that rd in the past. Its not the main A roads that need looking at, its the quiet back roads.

Ada its Cawthorne the grey mafia would protest or petition them to ban them as they dont fit in to the surroundings thats what they do with everything else in Cawthorne the elitist old sods

Hahaha, Harry - that could be true! They would send their cleaning ladies, home helps and gardeners out to do a protest.

Why tell people where the cameras are? This defeats the object of catching people speeding/breaking the law or am I missing the point of a speed camera??

They have to be clearly visible by law anyway. If drivers know where they are they will probably reduce speed so as not to get caught. This is what is intended in the first place,or have I completely misunderstood the situation ?

THats boys in blue stick to the main roads, forget the estates and rat runs where speeding is the real problem
