Dementia support group to hold open day

Monday September 26 2016

A LOCAL group that supports people suffering from Alzheimer's and Dementia is hosting an open day.

The Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support (BIADS) open day will take place on Wednesday October 5, and the group is encouraging people with dementia, carers, health professionals and people interested in fundraising and volunteering to attend.

Taking place between 10.30am and 3pm, visitors will be able to talk to BIADS’ staff, including carer support workers, and those responsible for fundraising and volunteering.

Visitors will also be able to have a taster of the support the group offers.

For more information about the open day, contact BIADS on 01226 280057 or email: Biads@btconnect.com

Brilliant organisation this. I would advise anyone with a family member suffering from dementia or working with people who have dementia to call in. They have a lot to offer and there is always room for volunteers to help out. Their Friday drop in is a blast.
