BUS and tram fares for children in South Yorkshire will increase by 10p on Sunday.

The fares will increase from 70p to 80p.

The increase to the fares follows a £8.5m (10 per cent) cut to the county’s public transport budget.

Child concession fares and operator child and student tickets are available with a MegaTravel Card or 16-18 Student Pass.

You must be having a laugh! You may have to cut down on ya bingo beer and cigs!! It should be treble what they pay now! They smoke on the bus they swear on the bus? I pity the poor bus drivers who have to deal with these so called children. Make them walk, it would do them good and cut down on the obesity problem at the same time.

People in South Yorkshire should think themselves lucky , in West Yorkshire kids have to pay half adult fare which is a lot more expensive sadly due to government cuts on subsidies local transport authorities have no choice but to make slight increases in consession fares and as a further result also has an effect on subsidised bus services some of which are being affected in January next year

Not all children are the same, I certainly no my children are not being brought up to be thugs and how you people are making out all children are! You people are ignorant. Your the same kind of people that expect young people to have respect to the older generation but have absolutely none for the younger generation. Not all children are thugs out to make jobs hard!

That's all it used to cost 18 years ago on the 226 from Bolton to barnsley, £8 a week now for my daughter to go to school and back. Disgusting

Re: LIAM

Lack of education? Have you checked your own post!?
Your grammar is terrible. Your spelling is worse.
I.e.
Even*
Afford*
Hasseling*

As for the bus fares;
Buy a weekly pass, deal with it and move on.

It'll teach your children that they have to make sacrifices. Bus fares or sweets/fags; can't have everything!
