POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 50-year-old man was seriously assaulted in Thurnscoe.

The man was reportedly assaulted at the bus stop in Thurnscoe Bridge Lane at around 8.10pm on Saturday, August 20.

He had left a party at around 8pm and has no memory of what happened. He suffered a fractured eye socket and fractures to his head.

Police believe he may have been assaulted and officers would like to speak to witnesses and anyone with information.

Anyone with further information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident 303 of 23 August 2016.

Heartless and hard, it's time sentences fitted the crimes, sending them to prison is a cushy number. It's time prison was a punishment and not a holiday camp. Go back to bread and water, take away the tv's, games consoles , etc . Let courts dish out longer sentences.
