SUPERMARKETS have slashed fuel prices by up to 2p per litre.

Asda has announced a nationwide price cap - meaning motorists will pay no more than 105.7p per litre on unleaded, and 106.7p per litre on diesel. 

Tesco has rolled out a 2p drop on fuel, while Morrisons has also cut its prices by 2p for petrol, and 1p for diesel.

Sainsbury's will also cut its prices today.

2p a litre isn`t exactly `slashing` prices is it considering the wholesale price oil, diesel and petrol has fallen considerable more than 2p a litre recently.
As welcome as it is for motorists I`m sure much more could have been cut by the supermarkets with the buying power they have.
