Tuesday July 26 2016

Do you recognise this man? Do you recognise this man?

POLICE have released CCTV images of the suspect wanted in connection with a shooting in Wombwell earlier this month.

Just after midnight on Thursday, July 7, police were called to reports that shots had been fired at a property in Burrows Grove, Wombwell.

A woman suffered a minor arm injury during the incident.

Police want to hear from anyone who recognises the man pictured, or anyone who is yet to come forward with information.

Detective Sergeant Jim Cross from the Force Crime Unit said: “This remains a priority investigation for officers and I want to reassure the public that we continue to do all we can to establish those involved in this matter.

“This was a shocking incident for the local community and we appreciate it will have caused some concern.

“A 21-year-old man was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of attempted murder and he remains on bail pending further enquiries.

“We continue to appeal for witnesses to the incident and now, with the release of these images, I’d ask anyone that recognises the man pictured to get in touch.

“If you’re not comfortable speaking directly to police, remember you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Anyone with further information should call 101 or email enquiries@southyorks.pnn.police.uk quoting incident number 5 of 7 July 2016.
