BARNSLEY COUNCIL has approved plans to convert the former offices at Joseph Locke House into 170 flats. 

The proposals were submitted by Empire Property Concepts.

The Heelis Street building was formerly used by HM Revenue and Customs until May 2013.

No doubt to be converted into 170 low cost flats for landlords to rent out to migrants,druggies and other low/no income individuals and groups that bring little or no economic value to our town

More flats!! Have the new build ones at the side of Joseph Locke House been rented out yet. More sense for the council to hang on to Joseph Locke and rent out to needy families surely if you've no where to live any roof is acceptable wherever it is

Been into town today and drove past them "city Reach" ahem "apartments and they are bleeding horrible!

Looks like a 1960's London Council Estate!
