Is there enough food choice in Barnsley?

Friday April 29 2016

Is there enough food choice in Barnsley? Is there enough food choice in Barnsley?

UNIVERSITY Campus Barnsley (UCB) students are asking for feedback from Barnsley folk on their dining experiences within the town.

The group of Travel and Tourism Management HND students are encouraging people to share their experiences of eating out in Barnsley on social media using the #tasteofbarnsley hashtag.

The aim of the campaign is to showcase what the Barnsley borough has to offer for foodies.

Students devised the campaign after identifying food tourism as a sector which Barnsley could use to attract people from other parts of the country and overseas to the town.

The campaign is part of a project to create more revenue for the local community and differentiate Barnsley from surrounding towns and cities and will run until mid-May.

You can share your experiences of eating out in Barnsley, using the #tasteofbarnsley hashtag, on Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr and Twitter.

Is there enough food choice in Barnsley WABers? What restaruants would you like to see?

I think that there could be a lot of improvement in restaurants in Barnsley town centre. They should embrace some different cultures and also more fine dining in the area, well at least some more gastro style. Excellent food but Yorkshire portions and prices obviously! Excellent quality and not frozen / microwaved. There is much room for improvement for sure. What we have at the minute is very limited - we also need some better mainstream chains too - like a nando's for example and other chains in line with Meadowhall food court. More gastro / posh evening restaurants, a few decent popular chain restaurants and you've got yourself a foodie quarter!!

There are THREE Greggs, what more does the discerning palate need?

Barnsley cuisine is first class if your a lover of kebabs, pizzas, or greasy fish 'n' chips. Greggs are probably best if you want to go up-market.!

Get real who wants to take love ones friends or family for a meal in Barnsley. Sat there eating your meal when some over weight smelly **** head drops his or her pants and does one on the window. Then there is the foreign army of scroungers trying to sell you fake jewellery. And if you lucky enough to get to the restraunt without being tapped for spare change.

You have the battle to return to you car if it's not being nicked or broken into. Let's just leave it to Greggs ans there sausage rolls.
