HEARTLESS thieves have stolen a woman's mobility scooter from outside her home for the second time - leaving her housebound.

Elaine Goodlad has had her scooter taken from outside her flat on Brierfield Close, just off Summer Lane, and last saw it just before 10pm last night (Friday April 15).

She also had a scooter taken last May - but a heavy duty chain and two padlocks have done little to deter thieves.

Elaine, 59, says she totally relies on her scooter as she suffers from osteoarthritis and can't walk far. She has also had a triple heart bypass and is diabetic.

She says it could be weeks before she receives a new scooter if her stolen one isn't found, and fears she may be charged an insurance premium.

Police are investigating.
