Buses diverted after yob attacks

Monday April 11 2016

Doncaster Road Doncaster Road

BUSES are being diverted after coming under attack from yobs throwing glass bottles, rocks and stones from a missile "hotspot".

The 22 and 22m services have had to be diverted after three incidents in the past few weeks on Doncaster Road, opposite the cemetery.

One incident resulted in a passenger being injured, while another left travellers covered in glass.

The bus services have had to be diverted after each incident.

Insp Richard Batty, from the Barnsley East Local Policing Team, said: "This kind of intimidating and aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated and, when identified, these individuals risk being arrested and could ultimately end up with a criminal conviction.

"We will have extra patrols in the area over the coming weeks."

Set of miscreant chavs. Its getting to the point in the area that vigilante justice is one of the only deterrents it seems like.

This is getting silly now. The police know who is doing this, people in the area know who is doing this, there patents should know there doing it.

Sort it out SYP before they cross the wrong person who takes matters into there own hands.

Your headline is misleading surely! You give the impression that missiles are being thrown at vehicles today. Yet the report identifies "three incidents in the last few weeks", some people seem to think that if they rush down to the scene they will catch the yobs in the act, please don't mislead.

It isn't misleading as far as I can see. The headline "Buses diverted after yob attacks" doesn't infer the attacks were today at all. It does, as you correctly point out, state there were "three incidents in the last few weeks" which is what has led to the buses being diverted.

You then state "some people seem to think that if they rush down to the scene they will catch the yobs in the act". Who are these people who think this?

So Milky "buses are being diverted" doesn't suggest a current event to you? It certainly appears to have the fine people of Barnsley calling for immediate action against these yobs and claiming that "It's getting silly NOW" my emphasis for YOUR benefit!

Sorry, what exactly are you going on about now? Has your village realised their idiot is missing yet?

I was one of the passengers on a 22 bus that was attacked two lads were spotted catapulting in the cemetery towards the bus. This isn't about police not doing there jobs its about parents not having control and society in general going down the toilet and to top it all cps for not doing there jobs once the culprits are caught weve all been too soft for too long

I agree with you. We have had the same problems over the years regarding some bus routes in the Dearne area. Those were late buses problems. Now. it is really serious if this is done in broadlight.

Sorry, meant broad daylight.
