Police appeal after Morrisons theft

Tuesday April 5 2016

Do you recognise this man? Do you recognise this man?

A CALLOUS THIEF stole a pensioner's purse at Morrisons in Barnsley.

Police are keen to speak with the man pictured in the above images after the incident, that took place between 4pm - 4.50pm on Wednesday 24 February.

The woman, who is in her 70s, noticed her purse was missing when she got to the checkout and realised that her bag was unzipped and her purse was gone.

On phoning the bank, she was told that one of her cards had been used to buy a number of high value items including a laptop and some computer software.

A second card that was stolen had not been used.

Anyone with further information should call 101 quoting incident number 800 of 24 February 2016.

More likely that he watched her use it somewhere and then followed her to steal it. That would also explain why the 2nd card that was in the purse wasn't used if he hadn't seen her enter that PIN anywhere.

hello there Sandra burns I was just going to mention when it says her bank card was used to buy high value goods... so must have had her security pin number inside her purse along with bank card.

thing is with that one where ever he used that card or at any bank it automatically records your data chip so she will get a statement in the post telling her how much money was used and where that card was used.?

also C.C.T.V footage of him going into any shop to purchase those items so one way or another he will get found out ?

Not a very good picture. If the purchases were made on line no PIN number would be necessary. Can they be sure it is actually this bloke who stole her purse? Morrisons have plenty of CCTV and would help police with their enquiries, maybe get a better photo out there.
