We Are Barnsley know you will be busy over the Easter weekend, so we’ve compiled another survival guide to keep you up to speed.

We've been in touch with everyone we could think of to get you the need-to-know information. In here, you'll find information on everything from bus timetables to emergency contacts and bin collections.

Doctors:

Most GP surgeries will be closed on Friday and Monday. However, 111 cover will be available. 

Supermarkets:

Asda will be open as usual on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, but will be closed on Easter Sunday and will close at 8pm on Easter Monday. 

Morrisons will be open as usual on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, but will be closed on Easter Sunday and will close at 7pm on Easter Monday.

Tesco will be open as normal on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, but will be closed on Easter Sunday and shut at 6pm on Easter Monday.

Chemists:

The following chemists will be open across the Easter weekend:

Good Friday and Easter Monday

Asda Pharmacy (Old Mill Lane): 11am - 5pm 

Lloyds Pharmacy (Barnsley Interchange): 8.30am - 5.30pm

Tesco Pharmacy (Wombwell Lane) 11am - 4pm

Easter Sunday

Lloyds Pharmacy (Barnsley Interchange) 10am - 6pm

If you require an emergency prescription your GP will advise you of which chemists can dispense them.

Buses:

Bus services will be running to revised timetables over the Easter bank holiday weekend. Most buses will run a Saturday service on Good Friday (25 March) and a Sunday service on Easter Sunday (27 March) and Easter Monday (28 March).

Public transport users can check for service updates and plan travel over the Easter weekend online at travelsouthyorkshire.com, on Twitter @TSYalerts, at interactive kiosks at Travel South Yorkshire interchanges or by calling Traveline on 01709 51 51 51.

Roadworks:

HALIFAX ROAD, PENISTONE
Temporary 40mph speed restriction from March 29.

HUDDERSFIELD ROAD, BARNSLEY
Temporary two-way traffic lights from April 3-11.

SALTERSBROOK ROAD, DARFIELD
Temporary 30mph speed restriction to enable resurfacing works until April 18.

SHEFFIELD ROAD, HOYLAND
Temporary 30mph speed restriction until April 18.

HALIFAX ROAD, WORTLEY
Temporary 30mph speed restriction until April 18.

HALIFAX ROAD, PENISTONE
Temporary 40mph speed restriction until April 18.

DONCASTER ROAD, ARDSLEY
Temporary 30mph speed limit to enable resurfacing works until April 18.

HUDDERSFIELD ROAD, HAIGH
Temporary 30mph speed restriction to enable resurfacing works until April 18.

HIGH STREET, DODWORTH
Temporary two-way traffic lights on April 20.

COBCAR LANE, ELSECAR
Temporary road closure on April 25.

GRAY STREET, ELSECAR
Temporary road closure on April 25.

Bins:

Bins will be collected as usual. There will be no changes to usual services.

EASTER???!!! Thought that word was banned, for fear of OFFENDING someone!

Bind as normal..... that's rubish ours were not collected Friday.. . But were Saturday...... so not tyre really.
