Zebra crossing petition denied

Tuesday March 22 2016

Barnsley Council Barnsley Council

A ZEBRA crossing and stop sign will not be installed on a busy road in Staincross, despite the council receieving a 289-signature petition.

The council received the petition calling for the installation of a crossing and stop sign on junctions of Staincross Common with Shaw Lane and Greenside and the junction of Paddock Road and Shaw Lane, after several serious accidents.

But the council said the sites did not meet the required criteria.

No surprise there...BMBC have greater priorities when it comes to wasting OUR money! Such as employing litter nazis who rake in thousands by pouncing on people who accidently drop a bit of pastry on the pavement from their sausage roll.
Or the thousands of pounds sent up in smoke at the annual Locke Park bonfire, which is neatly stacked with brand new doors and sheets of very expensive plywood. Or the ridiculous amount squandered on hiring around FIFTY skips, and paying umpteen council employees to clear up randomly dumped rubbish in the Doncaster Road and Sheffield Road areas, cast aside by hundreds of our migrant friends who dwell there.
Oh yes...BMBC have their priorities alright!

They haven't achieved the required body count. . . .
In other news, The lady doth protest too much, methinks, stop throwing greggs on't pavement. pavements for fag ends and chewin gum and smackheads to sit on.

You have a valid paid WO, since our central and Eastern European friends "settled" in those areas, said areas have been akin to the sights we see in war torn Syria or Beirut.

That's OK isn't it! Its alright for any of us to suffer but I can bet minute a BMBC employee or their family suffer they will finally do something about it, seems to me BMBC are only bothered about lining their pockets whilst taking the money from those who need it a hell of a lot more!

What a surprise!!! They won't provide a lollipop lady for Wellgate school either!! What's it going to take? A death of a child? A death of one of their loved ones (if they do anyone other than their greedy selves!!!) Cut out their expensive slap up meals, and cut their expenses allowances and put the money were it is really needed!! I'd love another party to win the next election as we'd see huge changes then and changes for the better!!

Please educate us BMBC what exactly is the criteria? The road is busy all day every day, the junctions are a dash for all! Children and parents have to get to the school, but often are mixed among the mad dash to get where they need to go. If time is given to wait for a suitable gap at schools out time then everyone will be waiting for a long time. This mad dash across the road at the first chance before another car speeds along means children are not getting the road safety education they need. Also, going back to my first question! There is a pedestrian crossing at 4 lane ends, it's in the most unsafe of places I can imagine, as a driver I have often pulled out from spark lane or greenside and been so busy watching for other traffic to realise someone has actually stepped into the road on the crossing. This is a good spot to test emergency braking for a driving test......

No, S.J...you miss the point...I do NOT refer to the unfortunate refugees of many countries, who are suffering the tyranny and mass murder that neither you nor I could possibly comprehend. I was merely referring to the countless "migrants", who have been ill-informed that our country is a "free bank" !

Yes, you missed my point too WO, I was merely stating that the town has become a doghole since our eastern European friends decided to make those areas their "home".
