New housing estate plans scrapped New housing estate plans scrapped

PLANS for a new housing estate have been axed due to a lack of interest.

Land next to the Aldi store on the north of Barnsley Road, Highgate in Goldthorpe was originally approved for a housing development of 35 homes.

But after a year on the market, the owners of the land, Dearne Estates, were unable to sell on their plans to a house builder.

Developers are now proposing to build two new retail stores that would bring 60 jobs to the area - if plans are approved by Barnsley Council.

I hope that the Foulstone site at Darfield isn't going to share a similar fate; at the moment all is very quiet.

The key sentence in this report is that "Dearne Estates, were unable to sell on their plans to a house builder",Dearne Estates which one ?,DEARNE ESTATES (FEATHERSTONE) LIMITED,DEARNE ESTATES (ROYSTON) LIMITED,DEARNE ESTATES (GOLDTHORPE) LIMITED,DEARNE ESTATES (FEATHERSTONE) LIMITED,Their are differant companies run from the same address by the same 3 people of which 2 are Planning Consult's,As for being unable to sell on their plans to a house builder this was because they were asking too much for the land for the purpose of House Building,
