Barnsley fan criticised by RSPCA

Monday March 7 2016

A BARNSLEY FAN has been criticised by the RSPCA - for taking his hamster to a football match.

The supporter would have caused the animal an “extremely stressful” experience, the RSPCA has said.

Footage posted on Facebook appears to show the fan with the rodent in his hood as he stands among Barnsley fans during the side's game at Walsall last Saturday (5 March).

He is seen smiling while fellow supporters dance and sing songs in his hamster's honour, including: "He's got a hamster in his hood".

I am surprised you have allowed bad language on WAB site. His pet, his choice. Silly man!!

Thank you for removing the bad language WAB. It is totally unnecessary. I am sure many readers of the WAB site will agree.

It's very cruel to make a hamster watch a full game at Barnsley, especially when the hamster was a Sheffield weds supporter
