OMG that's my route to work every morning and this is such an awful thing to happen. That small strip of the road is 30mph for a reason but sandwiched in between a 50pmh and 40mph so you regularly see some exceeding the limit because they do not want to briefly slow down. R.I.P to the poor gentleman and hope there were witnesses to help with enquiries.

I live in Silkstone this is the 3rd fatality in the same place, the Council did a traffic survey but said it didn't warrant a pelican or traffic calming, how many more people are going to die needlessly before something is done?

Very sorry for this poor gentleman and his family.
The council need to fund a pelican crossing to allow safe access to the vulnerable who use the Texaco garage as their local supermarket.Perhaps the Cooperative could help persuade tthe council to do this.
