Dentist urges sign ups Dentist urges sign ups

A BARNSLEY dentist is urging people to register for NHS dental treatment, after a rise in patients who have not seen a dentist for at least five years.

Mydentist on Pontefract Road is accepting new patients after an appeal by the British Dental Health Foundation.

The foundation revealed people who visit the dentist regularly reduce the risk of tooth decay by 60 per cent.

Clare Rushforth, practice manager, said: “We see the impact on patients’ teeth if they don’t visit the dentist regularly and we have NHS places available so there is no reason for people in the town not to register and receive regular treatment."

NHS is expensive not just by the cost but by the time you have to take off to get there, wouldnt be so bad if there were more Saturday surgeries offered!
