A DEDICATED policing team will be targeting Kendray yobs who are intimidating locals.

An increasing number of reports about a gang of teenagers congregating on the streets and being abusive.

There's also been reports of them throwing stones at vehicles.

Inspector Julie Mitchell from the Barnsley West Local Policing Team said: "The behaviour of these young people is completely unacceptable and their actions, particularly stones being thrown at buses and cars, puts the safety of other members of the public at risk.

"We will not tolerate this criminality and there will be increased patrols in the area in the coming weeks to identify those individuals involved.

"When identified, these young people risk being arrested and could end up with a criminal conviction.

"I wish to reassure the community in Kendray that we are aware of the significant impact of this crime on your daily lives and we are working incredibly hard to ensure that this does not continue."

If you have concerns about antisocial behaviour or have any information about those involved in these incidents, you can speak to a local officer on patrol or call 101.

Good. But what's 'when identified' all about. Don't the police know them, have they never seen them? Ringing 101 is an idea but often doesn't work for what's happening here and now, always gone by the time there's any response. What about CCTV.

Have you ever tried ringing 101, takes way too long to get through, and then forever to give details.

People have CCTV, just if they are not affected will they they bother coming forward.

Or if they are unaffected they may not know about it. So how about a PC having a knock on a few doors.

"When", "risk being" and "could", rather a lot of probabilities there. Should say " We will identify and make arrests which will result in a criminal conviction. We all know what will happen, don't we?

They were outside mine throwing things at neighbours windows.

They quickly ran off when I went outside after giving it the big one.

Was told they just stood there abusing old people and a young lady in on her own putting a new born to sleep.

I'm sure they will be easily found from CCTV, especially the chubby one who when he ran looked quite funny.

The people who live around there and can identify these no-brained neanderthals should start intimidating them outside their houses, see how their parents like the same treatment. It infuriates me that such dead-heads are allowed to roam the streets.
Having said that the Police would be straight round to make some arrests - streange that isn`t it !!

Correct very easily identified, god help us if the police actually had to find anyone.

Seen often in the park on Doncaster Road near the car wash.

Been up to this for a while now, to be honest from what I have heard surprised no police came out as they must have been hanging around at about 5:10 for a while so assume someone phoned the police.

They are deffo on CCTV, and if not why is there no CCTV.

it dont want them given a criminal record as to be honest there only kids and grow out of this behavior and giving them a criminal record only intruduces them to live a life of crime what it needs is for them to be given comunity hours in the local area as a lesson and learning curve iv and i know that would hurt them more then a criminal record iv been in trouble done bad things am not proud of and no comunity hours is better than a record and there will be do gooders that say diffrent but from past experiance hours are more hurtful and better for the future of this genaration of kids here some ideas for hours litter picking around shops and parks in kendray helping elderly with gardens but
belive me dont give them a record as kids dont know any diffrent and as for it could be 1 minute of madness that makes them a life of crime give them a second chance in life i got a caution 20 years ago and it still pops up now

Give over.....

There a group of 14 - 16 year old standing outside old people houses throwing things at windows and cars.

Told they just stand there waving when people look then throw even more things. Then run off if a guy comes out.

Breaking fences, smashing up for sale signs etc, ripping up plants.

I know what they do need.

Surely the police know who it is by now.

Used to play alegio and British bulldog when we were that age. Same problem down lundwood. Kids are hanging around Iceland. their delivery vans have had the wing mirrors smashed seven times in last 4 weeks plus wiper blades ripped off.... Abusing staff when asked to move on, setting fires at the rear of the store. Can't touch them because they are under age and they know the police would be on their side & its you that would be a child abuser for giving them a clout.
