Restaurant building is auctioned off

Thursday January 21 2016

THE BUILDING which homes one of Barnsley's most popular restaurants will be going under the hammer at auction.

Spice of India, on Pontefract Road, Hoyle Mill, is being auctioned by estate agents Mark Jenkinson and Son with a guide price of £110,000 to £120,000.

Adrian Little, at Mark Jenkinson and Son, said the building would be sold with the business still in it.

He added: “Basically, we are selling it as an up and running investment. The property is currently let to the current operators and as far as we are concerned we are selling as an investment property.

“I have not heard anything suggesting it (the restaurant) is closed.

“It remains operational as a restaurant and hopefully will for years to come.”

The auction will take place on January 26 at Sheffield United Football Club.

It's a silly news report saying ' I have not heard anything suggesting it is closed' because the restaurant IS closed, if you go there.

Well it's being auctioned 26 Jan for £110.000 to £120,000 that is clear. If anybody wants to buy it for a restaurant, a pub, a shop or whatever they will do then they can do whatever they want with it. Doubt anybody will want to buy it as restaurant as it doesn't make enough money. Any suggestions for what it could be. Could a charity buy it for the homeless in Barnsley.
