MANAGING money and advice on sex and relationships should be offered on the national curriculum according to thousands of Barnsley young people.

Barnsley's Youth Parliament asked for topics that locals wanted to be brought up at a debate in London next month.

The top three topics invluded the Living Wage, ideas to make public transport cheaper and a change to the curriculum to include more that would prepare them for life.

If they are already upset at paying for public transport (and rightly so) when it is already subsidised for them (although artificially inflated in price at the same time too), just wait till they realise how much they must pay for property and that they are essentially a generation of serfs.

Well, it says this is one of the 3 topics they wanted to prioritise ( living wage, public transport being the top 2.) I agree they should learn how to manage money, sex and relationships but surely this already happens in schools??

I'm 19 and although we did have sex ed ,it wasn't nearly as detailed as what I would say we needed, mostly just scaring us away from sex (because we all know that's going to happen). I can also guarantee that money issues were never talked about in school or college, and now I'm suffering for it as I'm in my 2nd year at uni, and have the bank of mum and dad to thank a hell of a lot. We don't get told about how to budget or make future plans, but on the plus side I know the chemical formulas for stupidly long carbon chains I'm never going to need and how to. Yey school. You should check this video out he gets my point down to a tee www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xe6nLVXEC0
