Kendray academy hailed most improved school

Friday October 16 2015

AN ACADEMY in Kendray has been hailed the most improved school in the region.

The Forest Academy is also amongst the top ten most improved schools in England this year.

Figures from the Department for Education show a 50 per cent increase in the percentage of 11-year-olds working at the level expected for their age.

Similar progress was recorded at the school by children in year one phonics and in standards achieved by 7-year-olds.

Principal Sam Bailey said: "The progress made at Forest these past 12 months is extraordinary."We aim to build upon our success and become the truly outstanding school that we can be."
