Proposed work and investment for Barnsley roads

Wednesday September 30 2015

ROADS in Barnsley could see an investment of £12.8million, if approved at a council cabinet meeting on Wednesday, October 7.

Coun Roy Miller said: "This proposed programme of works and investment in the roads network will have an impact on a significant number of Barnsley road users.

"Investment in the roads network will make it more sustainable in the longer term, providing a better experience for road users."

If approved, the programme would include repairing and resurfacing over 35 kilometres of Barnsley’s road network.

I hope that if this goes through that they don't forget the roads in the Dearne area!

All the nice things that normal, decent, law abiding people have should be banned in prison. No smoking, no TV, no games consoles etc. It`s supposed to be punishment, not a holiday camp.
If you want to live like normal people, have some dignity, respect for othere and behave yourselves.

Always welcome but the 35 kilometres is a drop in the ocean as far as barnsleys roads are concerned

I hope they'll be contracting this out to private companies. Barnsley Council haven't laid a smooth piece of tarmac for years.
