Eastfield Arms pub searching for local charities to support

Wednesday September 16 2015

A BARNSLEY pub is pledging to donate to local charities through out the year with the help of its customers.

The two local charities currently receiving support from the Eastfield Arms in Mapplewell are Barnsley Hospice and Bluebell Wood.

Cancer Research UK has been chosen as Sizzling Pub’s charity of the year.

Customers will be given a token with their meal which they will be able to put into a jar in support of their preferred charity.

The pub is also looking for people to nominate the next two charities to receive support, by putting their nominations in a voting box.

General Manager Philippa Burns said: “We are calling on the people of Barnsley to vote for worthy causes in the area, and would encourage anyone who works for a local charity to get in touch."

i am a member of a local fundraising group called 'the Sunday pudding club' who are aiming to raise £15,000 for a dear friend who sadly became paralysed a number of years ago. Our friend requires a new wheelchair which will aid his recovery and hopefully one day help him walk again. Our total currently stands at £9000 and we hold events every month to help with our aim. We would be grateful if you choose our group!
