Improvements to Royston thanks to money from developers

Wednesday July 8 2015

SOME areas of Royston will see almost £94,000 of improvements carried out thanks to money from developers.

Around £10,000 has been allocated to provide a car park at Royston Park.

Royston Oakwood recreation ground will receive £35,000 to improve pitch drainage and provide protective fencing to the playing area.

Finally, £48,774 has been allocated for play equipment and skate park refurbishment at Royston Park.

The money comes from Section 106 funding. Developers of larger sites pay this to the council to reduce the impact of the development.

Coun Roy Miller said: “The funding will improve three recreational areas in Royston, which I’m sure will be most welcomed by residents and visitors alike.”

Just wondering which particular development(s) might be the source of the £94K?
