Should school kids leave their blazers at home in hot weather?

Tuesday June 30 2015

It looks set to be a scorcher today!

WABers in hot temperatures should school kids be allowed to leave their blazers and ties at home and work bosses let their staff ditch uniforms?

What do you think?

I would have thought that the school's should advise the kids automatically that they can leave ties and blazers off in hot weather. It is common sense isn't it?? Bet they don't though, especially my daughters school, Shafton Academy. They will make them keep them on all day......

Stirring it a bit? I noticed all the parents complaining are the ones that can barely form a legible sentence. Barnsley schools have bigger problems than being able to take off their blazer or not starting with the disruptive kids whose parents don't care about discipling them bringing down the rest of the class with them

Yes of course they should leave them at home, cruel to make them wear them and silly to make them carry them around all day. Let the schools be reasonable please.

Most schools have now got air-con, so no problem there, but if other schools haven't then yes its common sense to take off your coat/blazer.

"Most schools have now got air-con." - You must be joking Ackerman. Where did you get that idea ? Despite a fortune being spent on the "Schools for the future" project most of the modern schools have no such luxury. In the school where I work temperatures in computer rooms regularly exceed 30°C.
