Council set out priorities with three year plan

Wednesday June 3 2015

BARNSLEY Council has launched a new plan setting out its priorities over the next three years.

The plan explains what the council does and how they will do it. It also highlights achievements made over the last three years and identifies the opportunities and challenges ahead.

The council’s three priorities remain similar to before. They are a thriving and vibrant economy, people achieving their potential and strong resilient communities.

Coun Stephen Houghton said: “Like many other public sector bodies, we face many further challenges and changes over the next three years.

"Our corporate plan helps us to be clear about our priorities, how we are going to work, and what we are going to achieve with reducing resources."

The strong resilient communities, you must mean the ones who are not afaid to walk the streets of Barnsley with its enomous police presence ....NOT...unless you go to a footy match or out in town for a pi** up...Stinks!

I Agree with Rockon. I haven't seen a bobby on the beat in Hoyland in years.
