WAB Debate: Should pet owners be fined if their dog bites?

Wednesday May 20 2015

Dog attack Dog attack

Pet owners who fail to take action to prevent a dog attack could be fined up to £20,000, under tough new laws.

If a complaint has been made about a dog to the police or council, its owners could be ordered to muzzle, microchip, neuter the dog and/or require it to be on a lead in public.

Owners could face being fined for failing to carry out the orders.

What do you think? Should pet owners in Barnsley be fined if they don't take action to prevent a dog attack?

if they bite a human and it was,nt provoked i think they should be fined and the dog muzzled, but for biting another dog no because thats what dogs do when theres a dog fight to protect themselves,my two terriers was fighting each other in the garden and drew blood so i muzzle them now.

Allow me if you will, to simplify this issue....
Responsible dog owners....GOOD.
Irresponsible wannabe "gangsta" dog owners....BAD!
Solution...do NOT pass the blame onto the dogs...
simply knock out the teeth of the vicious owners !!!
