A BUSHTUCKER trial was held by students to raise money for Barnsley Hospice.

Students raised £355 as part of a course module about charities and charity work. The students did a week long fund-raising scheme which finished with the bush-tucker trial of chocolate covered sprouts, beansprouts in jelly, chocolate dipped hard-boiled eggs and an ‘alternative’ 99 ice cream involving a wafer cone filled with mashed potato topped off with a sausage.

Support worker Farhit Rasab said: “The students have really thrown themselves into this project and worked really hard as a team. They had initial discussions about what they could do, which charity they wanted to support and organised every aspect of the activities. Everyone has got involved knowing that they were raising money for a worthy cause.”
