Reds Slip Closer To Relegation Zone

THE Reds slipped ever closer to the relegation zone after losing to promotion-chasing MK Dons on Saturday.

Danny Wilson's side sit just two points above the League One drop zone, having been comfortably beaten 2-0 in the end by Karl Robinson's in-form outfit.

Barnsley had dominated after a goalless first half but a slip-up from Jean-Yves M'voto, who attempted to clear a Carl Baker cross, found Dele Alli who then slotted past Ross Turnbull to break the deadlock in the 57th minute.

Six minutes later, the hosts doubled their lead through Will Grigg to ensure victory in a game which saw the Reds only register one effort on target.

Barnsley - who have lost four out of their last five - now have two crucial home games coming up against Port Vale and Oldham before they face a trip to table-topping Swindon.

"It's just one mistake that's been costing us," Wilson said. "I thought we defended very well - we've just got to believe and take some confidence from large parts of the game."
