THE Reds have signed two strikers today.

Milan Lalkovic, a Slovakian youth international who plays up front, was a part of Chelsea's prestigious academy before loan spells with Doncaster Rovers and Walsall.

His last club, Czech side FK Mlada Boleslav, released the 22-year-old and Barnsley manager Danny Wilson signed him on an 18-month contract, subject to international clearance.

Wilson said: "Milan has a great pedigree and he adds pace and guile to the team. We're all looking forward to working with him."

Stoke City youngster George Waring, 20, has also joined Barnsley on an initial one-month loan deal.

The 6' 5" striker spent time with Everton as a youngster and will go straight into contention for this weekend's game against Yeovil.

Wilson added: "George will give us that presence we've been lacking in the final third. He's a very tall lad and he will, hopefully, be able to link the play and help us sustain pressure on the opposition."
