Should Mothers Make Way For Wheelchair Users On Buses?

Tuesday December 9 2014

BUS companies are not required by law to force parents with buggies to make way for wheelchair users in designated bays on vehicles, senior judges have ruled.

First Bus appealed against a court ruling, won by a disabled man from West Yorkshire, that the firm's wheelchair policy was discriminatory.

Doug Paulley, 36, was denied access to one of its buses when a woman with a pushchair refused to move.

The Court of Appeal overturned a Leeds County Court judgement in his favour.

What do you think? Do you think mothers with pushchairs should make way for wheelchair users on buses? Have your say below.

Wheelchairs can be folded, it is unfortunately not possible to fold a wheelchair with the user in it, Suppose it depends on your priority, do you wake your baby up? or do you prefer to leave the disabled person in the street? Would you make a different choice if it was cold and raining?
