FASHION giant ASOS is offering Barnsley young people the chance to get started in fashion as part of a new project.

The company has teamed up with the Civic and The Prince's Trust for the ‘Get Started with Fashion’ event in May.

It is open to young people (not in education or employment) between 16 and 25 and will show them practical skills in fashion design, decoration, mood boards and key trend ideas - travel expenses and lunch are provided.

A spokesman added: "After the programme, the young people will receive up to 3 months support to help them get to where they want to be, either through further training, education or employment."

Anyone who is interested in taking part in the project, should contact The Civic.

Why are they offering this to those who are unemployed and not in education and between these ages? There are others out there that would love an opportunity like this but cannot obtain any position within the industry!

I completely agree im 22 ive been to college and studied 2 years of fashion, and there are no jobs. I have to work full time as i have things to pay for... this is unfair to the people who have commitments.
