A FORMER Barnsley vicar will appear in court today after being charged in relation to the theft of nearly £25,000 from grieving families.

Simon Reynolds, 50, is alleged to have taken money set aside by hundreds of families to pay for loved ones' funerals.

He has been charged with two counts of theft while working at All Saints' Church in Darton.

The cash was allegedly stolen over a six-year period between March 2007 and March 2013.

Reynolds, of Upper Church Lane, Surrey, is due to appear before Barnsley Magistrates' Court today.

We got married there 2yrs on monday,hope he didnt do us.if he can do it for grievin familys.bet he could ave done it to married couples.he even got our ages wrong on marriage certicate

You are not really married then if the certificate is not correct by law it needs to be correct for it to be a legal document
