Reds' Unbeaten Run Comes To An End

Monday November 24 2014

THE Reds' four-match unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday.

Danny Wilson's in-form side would have fancied their chances, with opponents Chesterfield going into the mid-table clash without a win in seven league games.

But striker Eoin Doyle scored in each half to give the hosts a comfortable two-goal cushion, before Keith Treacy's 85th-minute effort halved Barnsley's deficit.

However, the Reds couldn't draw level in the little time they had left and Chesterfield's win resulted in them leapfrogging Barnsley in the League One standings.

"We've lost the game with a couple of incidents in our defensive area," Wilson said. "That was the major problem. Two long balls down the middle of us has cost us twice, other than that I feel we played quite well.

"The two isolated incidents have costed us the game. The second goal, in particular, was a killer one because at that moment we were getting back into the game.

"We can't really complain because we've had a lot of chances. Unfortunately we didn't take our chances like we have done in recent games."

Yet another dismal, negative and dire away performance.

Had enough of Swilsons tactics now. Not once this season have we played away from home and gone for a win. Had enough of trying to sneak a 1-0 which on the odd occasion we have got lucky with. No intent at all away from home to go win a game. Even at home for the majority its been dire until we are forced to play.

The fans especially on Saturday deserve better. Just wish Wilson will let us play, when we do we look good.

You do realize half of our wins have been from away games right? We lost one game in the past four, And we only lost by one goal. You're making it out to be the end of the world

It's right though what 'fed Up Fan' says, we are too negative both home and away.

Crewe we got a bit lucky, went 1-0 down and ground out an uninspiring 2-1. Even at 2-1 we did our best to throw the game away. Coventry was an awful game, when we went behind we started to play. But realistically we stole a point due as we were so negative.

Yeovil was a shocker when we just sat back all 2nd half and eventually they scored. Peterborough we stopped playing when we went 1-0 up as to try and hold on.

Rochdale we were dire, played with no intent and after scoring from a set piece just held on all game, Sheff Utd was similar when we won as they were awful.

Again against a team there for the taking we were dire and with quality support behind us. The league is so poor but we are throwing points away due to a lack of intent to win games. If we played against Athersley Rec we’d probably try for a 0-0 away.

so what did you expect winning every game? if you did your in la la land, its a YOUNG TEAM .sick of winging ******s

Not winning every game no.

Don't give a flying f*** if were a young team, there's young teams all over the place these days.

What I care about is playing with no intent. Best form of defence is attack.

Don't expect us to win usery game. But if your happy enough been a mid table league one side then all good. Most sides these days are young sides and were far from the youngest around.

More fans at Stocksbridge? More reds at Chesterfield then blunts a few weeks ago. More reds at Chesterfield than Fowls at Leeds. We've sold out allocations from last 2 away games. Wednesday half fill Huddersfield away end.
