A BARNSLEY fan has been banned for life for making racist comments about Bradford's Asian community and the club's tragic fire in 1985.

The man wrote racist comments on Facebook and taunted the Bantams about the 1985 Valley Parade fire in which 56 people died.

"We cannot tolerate that sort of behaviour and appropriate action has been taken," said Ben Mansford, Barnsley's chief executive.

"As a club, we totally condemn those comments."
