Barnsley Throw Away Two-Goal Lead

Wednesday October 22 2014

THE Reds' poor home form continued last night as they threw away a two-goal lead to suffer a 3-2 defeat against high-flying Notts County.

Devante Cole opened the scoring for the home side after just eight minutes, with Conor Hourihane doubling Barnsley's lead four minutes later.

County halved their deficit through Garry Thompson to cap off a frantic opening 20 minutes, with the Reds holding on to their lead at the interval.

Michael Petrasso levelled things up after the hour mark, before he grabbed his second and County's third with what turned out to be the winner nine minutes later.

"We should have been four up at half time," said Danny Wilson, whose side have lost five in eight at home. "They've had four chances maybe, but three of them ended up in the net.

"Our attacking play was excellent. Defensively it was very, very poor and that's something we have to address."

The Reds - who sit just two points above the relegation zone - play table-toppers Bristol City on Saturday.

As much of a Barnsley fan that I am, it's getting to the point where I no longer want to go to the games. It's painful to watch all the potential go to waste. If this keeps up then I can't see many fans sticking to the club. 16th in the league table and I can guarantee now we won't be getting any points this weekend either. All it takes now is a few teams to win this weekend and we could be back in the relegation zone.

Danny went from hero to 0 is less than 5mins last night south stand singing his praises first 20 of game soon as defense cocked up sack the manager, we hear it all week in week out the amount that get up n walk out with 20 mins of game left slagging off the team the manager you either support the reds or u don't take the good with the bad n admit u weren't good enough to win the game as the defense were poor, n just to point out the dug out get just as frustrated Danny was screaming his head off all game

Wednesday are poor,
Barnsley are poor,
Sheff Utd are poor,
Rotherham, jury is out and lets see come March if there still playing with a buzz of a side with 2 promotions in two seasons when they hit a rough patch,
Donny are poor,
Chesterfield look exiting to watch.

Yorkshire football is shocking and no idea how a Wednesday fan can come on here and joke. Either the Wednesday fan is obsessed with all things Barnsley to see this post on the match report, either there from Barnsley and are Judas’s to their own town or stuck locked in the bloke from Sheffield basement still and confused were they are.

Been a shocking year ever since Danny came in ever since the performance against Derby, throwing two goal leads, dull depressing football and it’s the worst I have seen since been a regular at Oakwell.
