Driver Escapes Injuries After Serious Crash

A DRIVER escaped without serious injuries after his car ended up on its roof on Tuesday evening.

Emergency services were called to Wood Walk, Wombwell, at around 6.30pm.

The man was trapped in the Toyota Rav4 and was cut out by the fire service.

A police spokeswoman said: "The man was taken to hospital for treatment, but did not suffer any serious injuries."

The road re-opened at around 9pm.

I saw the car come up over the top of the trees on the roundabout and land nose down at the other side. It then rolled over and landed in the central reservation. So so lucky as the car was crushed.

I was 200mtrs behind approaching the roundabout when the car seem to lose control and career straight across and hit the roundabout hitting like a ramp and flew many feet up in the air out of sight over the trees ......glad ok very very lucky person indeed
