Teen In Hospital After Being Hit By Car

A TEENAGE boy sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car which allegedly failed to stop.

The 16-year-old is in hospital following the collision in Thurnscoe at around 10.10pm on Wednesday night.

It is reported that the boy was with a 15-year-old girl, walking along Barrowfield Road towards Thurnscoe.

It is thought that an unknown car, believed to be travelling along Barrowfield Road towards Bolton-on-Dearne, came into collision with the two pedestrians.

It is alleged that the vehicle did not stop at the scene.

The vehicle is believed to a dark-coloured small car, possibly a hatchback. The car may have some damage.

Witnesses to the collision, or anyone with information about the whereabouts of the vehicle, should call 101 quoting incident number 1171 of September 17. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

I hope the young lad is ok and he recovers, and I hope his friend is ok too. Thoughts to their families! As for the driver!! Tut tut! Hope they're caught and charged accordingly. Terrible. Xx

Hope the boy is ok my sister knows them both xx been told he pushed his gf out the way to stop her been hit hope the driver is found soon
