Fly-Tipping Cleared Up By Council

Friday September 19 2014

FLY-TIPPING which was attracting rats has been cleared up by the council.

The mess on Priory Road, Lundwood, was removed last Monday.

A spokesman said fly-tipping was a constant battle in 'hotspot areas', but the council aimed to respond to all cases within seven days.

The Lundwood problem follows news that people on Doncaster Road, Goldthorpe, are being plagued by an unusually large infestation of the rodents.

Have you noticed any in your area? Have your say below.

Well done for removing, but I am afraid that this is something that is blighting that 'greener' areas around Barnsley and not just Lundwood. Its about time that we started hitting these people hard with large fines and community service! I also include the morons who throw their rubbish from cars on roads / car parks etc in this!

The amount of rats about! It would bankrupt the council if they tried to eradicate them all. The council need to sort out waste management yes, then the rat population would shrink a bit, but rats are here to stay wherever you live. We have one and the cheeky sod managed to get a chunk of chocolate out of the trap without setting it off! Its now turning into Hubby's waterloo. It out smarts him every time. Elmer Fudd keeps springing to mind. ;-)
