Police Commissioner Resigns From Labour Party

Thursday August 28 2014

Shaun Wright Shaun Wright

SHAUN Wright has resigned from the Labour Party but has insisted he will remain as South Yorkshire's police and crime commissioner.

Mr Wright has faced calls to step down after a report on child abuse in Rotherham, where he managed children's services between 2005 and 2010.

The report said at least 1,400 children were sexually exploited from 1997 to 2013.

In a statement, Mr Wright said: "As a father and a citizen of South Yorkshire, my thoughts are with the victims and their families.

"I reiterate my apology to them and take full responsibility for my part in the collective failures which took place at Rotherham Council during the time I was in office.

"I remain committed and intend to remain in my role as an independent police and crime commissioner for South Yorkshire."

What do you think? Should Shaun Wright resign? Have your say below.

I think, when this is investigated and the truth comes out, him, and any others that covered this up, should stand trial for child neglect, for however many kids they let down during their term in their Jo if trust. Lets hope he doesn't have to deal with any rioting in the streets of Rotherham, because that's what would be happening if it was the other way around! 1,400 kids, I'm sick to my stomach!!!

How could this be let to happen in a civilized society, there is a hidden meaning in my statement. Gagged is the word!

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

The man a disgrace, he wont resign on a cosy 85k a year, should be dealt with by the proper channels , but nobody knows were the big cover up ends, born in Royston Barnsley, this is no Barnsley man. what the children have gone through whilst under the care of Rotherham makes me sick.

Lets not fool ourselves that this disgusting practice stops at Rotherhams borders. It will be rife in sheffield, leeds, bradford, birmingham, leicester, leeds etc. These gangs have relatives all over the country, this is going on everywhere and has been covered up, no question. Are we kidding ourselves that Rotherham is the only place it occurs. Something needs to change....

I consider myself to be somewhat left wing, but I find abhorrent some of the tactics of people on the 'left'.
People were trying to expose this shocking scale of abuse, and they were shouted down for being racist. Labeling people as racist led to their views being ignored.
Freedom of speech was denied to UK citizens, by UK citizens, which led to UK citizens that were children being abused for a prolonged period and the people abusing them got away with it.

Shaun Wright should step down for many reasons. But he should have never been elected in the first place. The low turnout and sheer amount of spoilt votes was proof that the people didn't want a PCC in the first place.

I hear that Mr Wright is visiting Barnsley today, how about boycotting any meeting that he may attend, unless it is one where he may tender his resignation.

It"s the do gooders and mad lefties that's crippling this country. With their help they can abuse our kids, go on a nice jihad holiday chop a few heads off then come back 'home' again. This country is a laughing stock embarrassment.

I wonder if the boot was on the other foot and it was Mr Wrights children who were sexually abused, how would he react then, totally different I would think.

ALWAYS said that the PCC's were an absolute waste of money.

What is more important than him resigning and the question on everyone's lips is why this "Pakistani" group was allowed to systematically abuse children when everyone decided to turn a blind eye and dare not speak out due to fear of being racist.

Society today is absolutely PATHETIC, People are so scared of daring to talk about people from other faiths in fear of being labelled racist and as an end result some 1,400 CHILDREN have been groomed and systematically abused from residents of the uk albeit from Pakistani origin.

1,400 children for gods sake!

This is one of the worst cases of political correctness gone mad and the sooner that people speak their mind instead of hiding behind the race card the better.

How can the people of South Yorkshire trust this man again, even if he did not know what was happening to Rotherham schoolgirls, he should have because that's what he was being paid to do. If he had any honour at all he would resign immediately.

If Shaun Wright didn't know about this mess he wasn't doing his job,if he did,he,s turned a blind eye,so wasn't doing his job. He should do the decent thing and go. Is it just the Pakistani,s that are doing all of this abuse? If so,why? Its very odd. And disgusting.

He did know, they all knew. Him, the police, the government. They all knew and just let it happen. The Pakistani men that do this believe non- muslims are a lower species and are fair game for anything. Now that is racism. Hope you're proud of yourselves the people who let this happen and their pc do gooder apologists.

Reply Posted by sid on Saturday August 30 2014 at 13:44
Wes,you say the Pakistani men think non Muslims are fair game and that, but continued gang rape between brothers and family against these girls is animalistic. I can't think of any other culture that are so absorbed with sex at this lowest form. Well,I hope there arnt other groups as evil as this. It seems like a disease amongst them. Or is it that its a cultural paedophile circle that is kept closed to non Muslims? Much like the Jimmy Savile problem. It beggars belief that so many victims and abusers are involved and for such a long time.

Why if they have these children's statements still in police hands why aren't they out there now arresting the scumbags never mind an enquiry surly the point is to get these scumbags away from the children and locked up then they can have there inquiry. Otherwise I think one Saturday night ROtherham or another town will erupt in a backlash with dire consequences

Reply Posted by sid on Saturday August 30 2014 at 14:22
That's right @cromwell. After all, look at all the arrests from abuse years ago, Rolf Harris,DavevLee Travis etc. The power of the law is there so it must be used. Its all very strange.

Reply Posted by Wes on Saturday August 30 2014 at 21:39
Exactly why they turned a blind eye so there's not riots. Just imagine if it was the other way round with just one Pakistani .girl, never mind 1400. The lot would go up, nailed on. Cover ups and gagging orders to protect paedophiles. You couldn't make it up.

Reply Posted by sid on Saturday August 30 2014 at 22:16
Yes @wes, theres more of an out cry about the authorities than the perpetrators. They should arrest the gangs first and then lay the blame at the doors of the peoplein power that turned a blind eye. They will still be there hanging on to ttheir well paid jobs by the skin of their teeth so are going nowhere, unlike the gang leader who,by all accounts has already fled the country! He has escaped, shame on them all.

@Oliver Cromwell you make a very valid point and talk sense. How is it we can arrest prosecute and convict people convicted of " Historical Crimes" as demonstrated from the Jimmy Saville enquiry etc.

Does any one know the answer.

I think it may be the serious events that could arise in these communities

Reply Posted by Wes on Saturday August 30 2014 at 23:18
It's a big problem, a much bigger problem than they'd like you to believe. I mean ffs we're only just allowed now to say its Pakistani not asian males, because good Indian & other asian people don't want to be lumped together with these people. And I do know it's not all Pakastani men, but it's a far bigger problem than they have made out. Not to mention the homegrown terrorrists.

Reply Posted by sid on Saturday August 30 2014 at 23:38
I'm thinking@wes, that we are zoning in on the Pakistani side of it too much. They are a gang of men. True. The problem seems to be,that the authoritys have been battered by the race card and we, in this country are so afraid now of racism claimsthat no one dare speak out. Had this gang been white British, they would have been stopped years ago. This is not a racist case, its a case of paedophilia. They authorities have been gagged because of the fear of racism claims.

Sid there is a massive problem with the Pakistani community. It's been hushed up for years so as not not upset the applecart. Not just this 7/7 what's going off in Syria & Iraq, supposedly Brittish people who openly despise us.

Reply Posted by sid on Sunday August 31 2014 at 00:17
@wes,you mean British Muslims? You see I can't see why Pakistani men are supposedly so depraved. I'm a niave kinda guy,but to me its like saying ginger cats are more sexual than tabby cats? We are all human. I just think this has been able to escalate because of the fear of racial claims. Yes the fear of the racist cards being played in other words. Plus, those in power would sooner turn a blind eye than open it all up and lose their well paid jobs.

Come on let's be honest these are Pakistani Muslim pedophiles who have procured young kids and didn't give a dam Because they could play the get out of jail free card I'm Muslim and black and the people in charge let them get away with it. Those poor kids scared for life and the police are still not making any arrests shame on them shame on the powers that be get them arrest them in prison them. And sod the Pakistan community's feelings
