Troublesome Potholes To Be Fixed

Tuesday August 19 2014

OVER £500,000 will be spent on tackling the town's troublesome potholes.

The funding - from the Department for Transport - will be formally accepted by the council on August 27.

The £503,145 award follows a successful bid made by the council in May this year for additional maintenance funding.

The fund recognises that potholes are a key concern of local residents, businesses and road users and potholes have got worse over the winter months due to the severe wet weather.

The money will be used on a prioritised basis.

With the amount of potholes in barnsley the repairs will be a bit of tarmac and a bang with the shovel. Unless the priority is up around the town hall, in which case new road surfaces all round.

Well that's good. Hope they repair full sections rather than filling in holes as thatll only be a temporary fix.
