Peacock Causing Mayhem For Darfield Residents

Tuesday August 5 2014

DARFIELD'S infamous peacock is still on the loose - two weeks after first being spotted.

Local filmmaker Giannis Kipreos, who woke up to find the colourful bird on his garage's roof, checked in yesterday to confirm it's still prowling the Springfield Crescent area.

Resident Debbie Thawley says it has ruined her garden and also been frightening her 20-month-old daughter, Maisie.

She said: "We put new plants and flowers in a while ago and I'd say three-quarters of those have been torn up by the peacock.

"Surely it belongs to somebody."

What is the law on trespassing peacocks? Is violence allowed if you feel your life is in danger?

Can't it be caught and either taken to the bird area at Wentworth garden centre or to cawthorne farm

It's a bird for crying out loud. You should be happy seeing such a beautiful specimen up close in the dreary Darfield. But then again, its Barnsley, a town that has turned into a bunch of moronic thicko's who can barely string a sentence together.

I would love a creature as magnificent as this hanging around my garden. It's nature, we should embrace it. I'm surprised the callous cruel cowards around there haven't bumbled about the place with shotguns to shoot it in the name of fun.

Yeah, that's right the town's full of "moronic thicko's" and your sweeping assumption is based on a few comments on WAB?!

Peacocks have the freedom of the City in Dunfermline Fife. They are lovely to see. Maybe your Peacock should be given the freedom of Darfield :)))) İt will become tame if you treat it right :)))
