OFSTED carried out a visit to a Barnsley school last week after an online survey for parents expressed concerns about bullying.

A cross section of 46 parents whose children attend Netherwood ALC answered 12 questions on the education watchdog's website.

A total of 39 per cent expressed concerns about bullying and behaviour at the £35 million school on Dove Valley Way.

Ofsted made an unannounced visit in March after receiving complaints about the safety of children in the school.

Principal Toby Eastaugh said: "Parent view is used to inform a school inspection, the findings of which are published in the final written report.

"The findings of the Ofsted report remain confidential until it is published and therefore I cannot comment at this point.

"However, I shall be more than happy to comment on the report once it is published."
