Pensioner Sustains Head Injuries After Collision

A PENSIONER sustained serious head injuries after being hit by a car on Monday.

Police were called to the incident at 9.30am to reports that a woman had been hit by a grey Land Rover Freelander on Brierley Road, Barnsley.

The elderly woman, said to be in her 70s by police, was initially thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries before being given a brighter prognosis by doctors.

The road remained closed for several hours while emergency services tended to the casualty.

get well soon i was there just after the accident and have been so upset to see somebody in an accident what a strong lady my thoughts are with u and i will get a collection going to send u some flowers from the people of brierley x x x
