O'Grady Nails Colours To Reds' Mast

DANNY Wilson has said it is "music to his ears" that top-scoring striker Chris O'Grady has seemingly pledged his future to the Reds.

The frontman, who bagged 15 goals last term, had been the subject of a £500,000 move to Charlton Athletic before talks between the player and the London club reportedly broke down due to personal terms.

Wilson said: "Chris O'Grady has nailed his colours to the mast and that's music to my ears. He will play a big part next season.

"As far as I'm concerned, all the players signed to us at the moment will start the season with us, which is great."

Former Rotherham United hitman Will Hoskins is also on trial with the club. The 28-year-old, who hasn't played for 17 months after an injury-ravaged spell with Brighton, is a proven goalscorer.

Wilson believes that if the Nottingham-born striker proves his fitness, he could bag 20 goals next term.

If signed, Hoskins will be added to the club's current attacking roster of O'Grady, new signing Kane Hemmings and academy graduates Danny Rose, Rhys Oates, George Maris and Nana Boakye-Yiadom.

Be very happy to see big Chris stay. He'd get a bagfull in this league, that's if he is played in his proper position not wide on the left.

He didn't get greedy, he has always said it would take a big wage package to make him move from the area. His family are settled at the moment and he would like driving distance if not to stay.

Ogrady never put a transfer request In That's a fact. He has always expressed that if he moved clubs he didn't to move far. He probs asked for big wages so that they would turn him down

People keep bleating on about players being greedy. Its a short term career and at this level they need to be earning to their potential to support their families in future. Its not premier league wages they are earning.
I'm sure all those calling these players greedy would stick with their own job if they were offered a grand or two more at another firm...NOT.!!
