Barnsley Ale Picked For Parliament

Tuesday May 27 2014

MEMBERS of Parliament will drink a Barnsley-brewed ale after the Two Roses Brewery was picked to provide the guest ale for the Strangers' Bar.

Brewer James Taylor chose his Galaxy beer which owes its flavour to the galaxy hops used.

He was welcomed at Parliament by Barnsley Central MP Dan Jarvis, who said he was proud to have a local beer gaining popularity in London.

He added: "This is a fantastic addition to the Strangers’ bar here in the House of Commons. It is a real credit to James and the Two Roses Brewery for their hard work and great taste.”

James is now planning to launch a new beer called Barnsley Pals to commemorate the 100th anniversary of World War One to raise money for the Barnsley branch of the Royal British Legion.

"Dan has worked closely with us on it. This is a relationship I’m sure will only grow stronger and we really appreciate the opportunity to have our beer in the Strangers’ bar.”
