Stagecoach Named Britain's Cheapest Bus Provider

Thursday May 8 2014

Stagecoach Stagecoach

STAGECOACH has been named as Britain's best value major bus operator for the third successive year.

Analysis published by transport specialists TAS1 found that Britain's biggest bus operator provides regular passengers with the lowest cost weekly travel.

Stagecoach - which operates an extensive network of local services in Barnsley - carries 48 million passengers every year across the country.

Research found that its weekly travel is on average 12 per cent lower than the next cheapest operator.

Martin Griffiths, Stagecoach's chief executive, said: "Rising costs and public sector cuts all put pressure on prices, but we will continue to work hard to keep fares down and get more people back on board the bus."

How can you moan about the price when it's officially the cheapest in Britain. I remember when a pint was under a pound... Times change and you have to move on.... I think they call it inflation.

And Bus Drivers do? Stopping opposite junctions, leaving there bus with the engine running to have a fag and make telephone calls, waiting outside peoples homes where its not a timing stop, breaking the speed limit to keep ontime.

were all guilty, thats why they nailed Jesus to a cross

Its a business, Why should they travel around south yorkshire for free? I think that unless you live on Sheffield Road, £1.90 is too cheap. Also Petrols free. Havnt you heard. Shell wrote to Stagecoach and said 'Hi, theres loads of whinging tw@ts that live in Barnsley so you can have your petrol for free"

Even though busses run on Diesel ! lolz

Cheaper fares, poor wages. I know!

If your getting a poor wage you have to wonder if you have valuable skills. If you have then your not using these valuable skill's, If you dont have valuable skills then your worth what your getting paid.

Its all relative. If your worth more go out and get it. If your not, cut your cloth to suit.

Its a business and im sure the aim of the game is to make money.... When are the scrubbers round here going to realise that people dont work for free and that its not their god given right to get everything in life without having to work. Get a Job, pay the fare. OR Buy a car, insure a car, tax a car, MOT a car, service a car and THEN Complain!
